Summary:
Marriage, and the duties which come with it, seem to agree with Aravis. She thinks before she speaks, drinks her wine slowly, and slips smoothly from gossip to business.
Susan would like to think I taught her that, but she’s not so sure.

Not exactly deeply thinky lady-centric fic, but nevertheless, I wrote this and it features Lucy:

Look at your lion. Now back to me. Now back to your lion. Now back to me.

Hi all, I come bearing fic. It is, sadly, not new fic, but on the off chance you haven't seen it before, may I present a Problem of Susan fic, And After Darkness, Light.
Characters: Susan (unsurprisingly, it is Susan-centric), Lucy, Aslan (sort of), OCs
Words: 7222
Notes: Character death as per canon (off stage); some fairly graphic violence (in the context of a dream, but still). The fic was written in an attempt to provide a more satisfactory resolution to Susan's story without either ignoring the big problems with Lewis' handling of it in The Last Battle, or rejecting the Christian themes underlying Narnia. How well it worked is of course for the reader rather than the author to decide!

Vid recs post!

During the post-Prince Caspian flurry in Narnia Fandom, I had extremely limited broadband, and so didn't watch a single fanvid. It's only really in the last six months that I've regularly watched fanvids, and few of them have been Narnia vids.
So: rec me your favourite fanvids featuring the women of Narnia!
My only contributions to this post are:
In some dreaming state, by
be_themoon: a Susan-centric vid. Really excellent song choice, and I love the way the footage splices between LWW and PC, tying them together in non-linear ways (I'm particularly fond of the way Betsy's cut this so that we see Susan drawing her bow in PC and cut straight to dead Aslan in LWW - interesting implication, that!).
Susan, Lucy and Jadis all appear in arefadedaway's multifandom vid 'One Girl Revolution': I have no words for how much I love this vid. I love the fact that it, although the Girl Warriors are there kicking ass and taking names, the vid also celebrates female villains, and it rejoices in curiosity and intelligence as much as violence. I *love* the use of Lucy: particularly the sequence which links the wardrobe door with Lyra's compass, Hermione's Time-Turner and Rose and Martha's TARDIS.

Intro post and discussion!

Alright, let's kick this off with a simple question: who's your favourite woman of Narnia?
Has your preference changed since you first encountered Narnia? Have the new movies influenced your preference?
If you create fanwork, is your favourite character also the woman of whom you write/draw/create other fanworks most often?
Introduce yourselves and get chatting in the comment threads :D.

Hi, I'm Inept, and my favourite character from the Narnia books is Aravis. She's been my favourite since I was a wee squidget, listening to the cassette recordings and reading the school library's copy of The Horse and His Boy. I've always had a soft spot for women in armour, and I liked Aravis' stubborn nature, and her confidence in herself, even as that shaded into arrogance and pride.
The female character whom I write most often, though, is Susan. The new movies definitely influenced my preference here, although I usually write bookverse: I like exploring the themes of girlhood/adulthood, power and sexuality which the PC movie in particular brought out in Susan.
What about you folks?
